Information about Workshop

This workshop brings young participants in the LGBTIQA+ community together in a unique and profound way.

Learning alongside others allows you to draw strength & comfort with each other as we explore all aspects of personal safety in a confidential, safe and inclusive environment.

Our discussions include recognising different types of control, different types of emotional & physical violence & sexual assault.

The messaging in this workshop is clear - only the perpetrators of violence and abuse are the only ones responsible for the abuse.

We deliver a a range of strategies which may help give you control in different situation through non physical, verbal cues.

There is a component of the workshop which allows you to explore physical elements of personal safety. This is delivered in a very informed, safe & managed way where you are 100% in control of your levels of participation.

We have our wonderful qualified social worker Danielle, providing you with an extra layer of support should you need it. We also have some amazing co-facilitators from within the LGBTIQA+ community, providing an important understanding of unique concerns and issues you may face.
